Dennis Walsh was born and raised in Alameda, California. After high school, Dennis left California to attend the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1972 with a degree in political science and a minor in photography. His photographic experience broadened during college while working as a staff photographer for a large publishing firm.
Immediately following graduation, Dennis entered the U.S. Air Force. Dennis served six years in the Air Force as a C-130 pilot.
After leaving the Air Force in 1977, Dennis began what was to become a 34-year career at American Airlines. Retiring in 2011, Dennis now devotes all his working hours to his studio.
Dennis opened his first studio in Dallas, Texas, in 1981. During his years in Texas, Dennis became well-known as a skilled “people” photographer.
After living for 12 years in the Dallas area, Dennis, his wife Sherry, and his son Kevin moved to Park City, Utah, in 1993.
Dennis has photographed assignments in Ireland, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Hawaii, and over a dozen states. He is widely respected for his ability to capture the true spirit of his subjects.
Dennis has extensive experience in many areas of photography. A skilled studio photographer, Dennis also loves to work outside or on location. Specializing in illustrations of people in their own environment, his favorite subjects include families, children, and images of America at work and play.
